The ultimate Freedom is to be free from the mind. It is the mind that imprisons/confines you through its creation of anxieties, conflicts, rules...
How can we get free from the mind? From an understanding of where the relevant things/feelings come from and the definition of those things. Of course, that implies to use the mind, but if it is done with sincerity and seriousness it becomes its own instrument of examination.
It is better to be wealthy and healthy, but the reason why the ultimate freedom is not a physical freedom is that that doesn't change your character/inner self. It doesn't change who you are. So it may solve your money and health problems, but there is still tons of things that are enough to perturb your peace. So your "baseline peace level" is not changed by so much.
On physical freedom --- Any freedom that leads to the desire for more freedom, is not freedom
Most people chase physical freedom because they have the belief that the source of fear, anxiety, and other feelings come from the circumstances of oneself. But circumstances only reveal parts of oneself, which then causes the feeling. So, all conflicts are essentially self-conflicts.
THE LOW-LEVEL ANXIETY / How to get rid of the low-level and persistent non-specific anxiety that we all have? The way to do it, is to understand what this anxiety is and from where is it coming from (this examination process is true for anything that you want to overcome!).
Understanding / It is only through understanding, that you can take your destiny in your own hands.
For the example in which you are motivating/inspiring someone, or receiving compliments. Generally, this make us feel good. But is the understanding of why is making us feel good that gives us freedom. For this example, we feel good because you are building a self-image or feeding your ego as a result of these actions.
Just want to say I love your video format! This video is sooo full of wisdom that takes some time to process... the side notes in the video, summary at the end, and the notes in description ARE SUPER HELPFUL!!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much Andy! Appreciate it ❤️
Completely Agree!!! It’s a unique format that it’s easy to digest and remember.
My all-time favorite podcast by Naval.
I think we can think of trees as an example. If someone cuts a branch out of it, the tree doesn't look for any external solution. Instead, it detects the bleeding pain and naturally grows another branch. This is a true "solution", unlike any other so-called "solutions." The tree simply understands the problem, and the problem just disappears.
Hey 👋
Just wanted to say that this video is set as a premiere as I'm experimenting with this in order to accomplish 2 things that I think can add value to the community:
1 👉 I will be live in the chat to answer any query, share perspectives or just chat on whatever comes to mind.
2 👉 As "super chat" and "super sticker" tools will be on, if anyone wants to (financially) contribute to keep building the channel he/she will have the option to do it!
Don't forget to click the Reminder button 😉
Much Love
Premiering would be good for daily dose on time. Thanks for your efforts.
Thank You :)
Subscribed! Amazing content chunks
Appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant conversation. But Gupta has a loooooot of prescriptions about being non-prescriptive …. I saw some solipsistic elements here.
It's the issue of using language
When was the original recorded?
around 2018-2019 !
I actually think the opposite. I don’t want freedom from something. The only person who wishes for this is someone who can’t bear burden of his life’s difficulties.
That’s 100% wrong
@@JayOneAlumni Thanks for elaborating.
@@dragushcobaj4121if you really cared you wouldn’t need me to tell you. You’d be doing the research to find out.
@@JayOneAlumni Who says I haven't? And who says research is the means one ought to use to come to these conclusions? More than anything I dislike the evident fixation you have that objectively you are right and Im wrong, as if things were that simple.
@@dragushcobaj4121 I’m happy I’m not you lol good luck.
